As I recall, that rotor was so hard to push on that it was difficult to "feel" when it was truly home. I would pre-heat it (gently, maybe 100 degrees) and put a thin film of silicone lube on the cam to help things along. Push firm, try not to cock the rotor. Set your timing on a warm engine when you are done. It should be the last time you will ever do timing.
