I only pump gas with the nozzle upside down if I have to park with the gas pump on the right hand side of the car (all of the left side pumps are taken).
The 911 is narrow enough so that you can pump gas by pulling the gas hose over the front hood if you hold the nozzle upside down.
Now THAT gets some strange looks. Just pull out a Mentos and pop it in your mouth.
