There are pirate programs all day on the History Channel. One of them was discussing modern day piracy. Another one was discussing Al Qaeda and piracy.
There were some operatives who siezed a ship and didn't take any loot. They were studying how to navigate the ship, etc. It is suspected they may be planning to use a natural gas ship to blow up a city.
There was an accident in the 1910s in which a ship carrying gunpowder (I think) crashed into Nova Scotia and destroyed 1/2 of Halifax and killed or injured thousands.
