Blu-ray will beat HD DVD in the high-definition format war.
Here are the key advantages to Blu-ray:
- Much more motion picture studio support (only Universal is exclusively HD DVD , so many films will never be available on HD DVD).
- Much more support from consumer electronics manufacturers.
- More storage space: Single layer discs are 25 GB versus 15 GB. And dual layer discs are 50 GB versus 30 GB.
- Blu-ray discs are very scratch resistant. HD DVDs are just like regular DVDs.
- Blu-ray was released after HD DVD, yet it's dominating HD DVD in sales.
Don't buy HD DVD. It won't be around for long.
