I will not judge you; ain't my style. That being said, one of the problems our society has is folks not taking responsibility of their actions, whether it be speeding or paying a luxury tax.
If you were really going that fast in a zone marked for a much lower limit, 'fess up and face the music. It ain't easy, but it is a real character builder!!
