The clutch is fine, but has it been replaced? If not, then you're due for a replacement soon. The rubber clutch hubs just don't stand the test of time.
Seriously, if it were a year from now, I'd consider your car: looking for a 924S/944 to turn into a track car... (Can I have your neighbor's C2 wheels with the deal?!?
