I am doing the same thing right now with my '67. I reinstalled the Blaupunkt and I had it working for a day but now it's just for decoration. The Blaupunkt has two power wires to it. There is a yellow one with the fuse coming off the ignition, and the red with white stripe one from the battery. If you use the yellow wire the ignition will need to be on for the stereo to work.

The new Sony decks have a funny triangle/cone wired remote which I've heard good things about. I am considering putting that in the dash and putting the deck in the glove box. A display would be nice though. One idea for a subwoofer is to partially fiberglass in the hatch in the hood, and port it into the cabin. Cool idea but a little too permanent for my tastes!

I'm still spending money on the engine but the stereo is next. Let me know how things work out!
