Have you wrecked the plug to the point where there is no longer any chance of removal?
And don't feel too badly about this, I think it's fairly common. Use the search button and you will find lots of suggestions how to prevent doing what you did. But I don't recall seeing a post about how to proceed once the hex is destroyed.
A picture might help us figure out a cost effective solution.
