I had a similar problem (the tubing was absent altogether), and tried regular black heater hose. The problem is that automotive stores sell 3/4" hose, which is too small. 7/8" (inside diameter) is more what you want, and I was unable to find any until I chanced upon some dishwasher hose in a hardware store. $1.25 per foot vs. upwards of $15 sounded like a good deal; if it was inadequate I've only wasted three bucks.

But as it happens, the stuff seems to work fine. It makes a nice snug fit, doesn't mind the heat in the eng. compartment, and oh yes, the rear window is fog-free in operation.
