your idea I had already given it a thought , to swap the transmission nosecone, to remove the side shift linkage and install the actuator and actuator forks from the 901/2 tranny..

however, The 914 intermediate case appears to be thicker that the 911 intermediate casing.. by approx 3/4 of an inch..

the next thing will be to check if it will still fit along the engine in the engine compartment.. since the overall assy. will be a bit longer.

would you recommend interchanging gear assemblies.. ??? I am not too keen about mixing gear assemblies since they are already run and the wear patterns will be different..

I have never driven a 911 with a 4 speed..
I have a 1964 beetle with a 4 speed and it feels funny, then again it is only a four cylinder..

what is the feeling on a 911?
