I don't mean to diminish the 178 hp, it just seems the Italians and Japanese embellish a little more than the Germans when it comes to numbers.
I have a friend who was always amazed that his Japanese High HP cars never felt as fast as his wife's BMW, he know drives a BMW, took him close to 10 years to learn it isn't always what looks good on paper.
I have been watching videos of N8 and Brian this morning (ankles fractured) and it is unbelievable how much later they are on the brakes compared to the competition. The telelever and overall balance of the bike have a serious effect on performance of the R1200S, not discounting Chris's set-up or the skills of the riders, you can see the performance of this supposably slow sports bike, kicking ass. Nice job to BMW and all involved. Enjoy your R1200S's, they are great sports bikes that you can tour on.
