Sorry Santa

HO HO HO - Sunday was Christmas for Iris and I ( Iris is my 1971 911 Hot Rod). Went to my motor wizard's for the Santa thing, my wife bought him and I a gardners kneeling pad (foam pads with a hand hole cut in one end)and I took him some smoked salmon.

Anyone that knows me is aware that I am not content with the way my new motor was running! The 46mm PMO's are just more sensitive than I want to deal with, using carbs was my idea and I now realize not a great one. She runs great when the car comes off of Dick's Dyno Jet chassic dyno but by the time I get her back down here to the coast she is running way to "FAT" Last fall I went for a "RUN" with the Seattle PCA boys and girls, they thought the car was the fastest turbo diesel they had ever seen.
Tyson remembers the wild ride we had.

After the first of the year Iris is going in for some work. The 46mm PMO's, manifolds, linkage, watershield air cleaners and the mechanical advance 964 distributor will come off and go up for sale. If you are looking to build a Carrera 3.2 motor with dual plug and carbs give me a shout.

Dick (Elverude) my motor wizard and buddy has a set of high butterfly throttle bodys that he really thinks work great, they bolt to the head directly rather than to the old Weber manifold like so many after market throttle bodies do. This gives intake air a straight shot no bends or kinks. They also have a single rod for all three butterflies, not three rods with linkage between them. Dick is a distributor for Halltec engine management systems so we will be using their crank fire stuff to control the squirters and spark. Tuning the motor with the lap top sounds fun to me.

My plan is to run a few hill climbs next summer and spend some time at Portland International Raceway in Portland OR. for DE events. I'm hoping Jack and Mike will come up and Tyson will come down, might be fun to go run with the three amigos. I would also like to go up to Bremerton and have Randy Wells give me a few of his hard earned pointer on how to drive this car somewhere close to its potential. His offer, he is an instructor up there!
