I love my neighborhood. But I'm in an HOA with only 25 homes and a gated community. I have 18 acres, yes 18 acres in a suburb of Los Angeles. The biggest complaint is no one can be bothered to do anything for the HOA except me and my brother (my best friend) who lives three doors down from me. Being the last house on the street with a 350 foot driveway helps a lot. Believe it or not, my closest neighbor complains when my brother and I smoke a cigar out front on Sunday afternoon. 350 or more feet away, pleeze!
