I am in the midst of rebuilding my stock 85 Carrera suspension, and had read a several threads about tough ball joint nut removal. I got mine off EASY by:
1. Get arm out and turn "nut up" in a vice.
2. Spray PB blaster liberally
3. Heat the nut well with propane torch till you can see a little bubbling of the PB between the nut and ball joint.
4. spray some more PB liberally, and heat the nut again
5. For the nut, get a ford 4x4 hub tool from Autozone for $15 (fits perfect), or buy $45 real porsche tool from our host
6. put the tool on a impact wrench (i have cheap electric habor freight model, which works great), apply some body weight over it, and pull the trigger.
Mine spun off very easily with this method
