Thanks for the heads up, svb. I saw a show on the Speed channel with some guys running sport bikes up on Palomar at the wrong time of year and there was a lot of snow, ice, run-off, and sand.

How about Pomerado Road off the 15 to Highland Valley Road to the 67 in Romona to the 78 (Julian Road) up into Julian and then the 79 through Cuyamaca? That will dump us back onto the 8 and we should avoid the mountains for the most part. It is really pretty country with winding roads.
