I plan on leaving the DME stock. I do not plan on adding any kind of computer controlling management. The increase in airflow with be complimented with increased fuel- either through larger injectors and an AFPR or just a RRAFPR.
If I need to make slight adjustments in timing and/or fuel I can use the FQS switch on the DME.
Piggyback controllers are often expensive and unnecessary. I am trying to keep this project under $1000.
I plan on running low boost initially(under 10psi) and will install a beefier head gasket if I decide to run more boost later.
I want to use an 951 intercooler and also keep the A/C components if possible and DMRK: where and how did you install the 951 I/C on your 944? Did you use the stock bumper?
The 944S exhaust will work fine for much larger amounts of boost than I will run. The stock exhaust is already fairly unrestrictive-this is partly why new exhausts don't net much HP increase.
There is no possible way that the supercharger will fit where the a/c compressor is. There is simply not enough room there. That leaves me to move the alternator down to make room for the s/c or to just put the s/c where the current intake piping and manifold is. This will require a custom intake manifold to make room.
