Get your ohm meter out and check the new switches. Sounds like you keep getting the wrong switch for the car. Check your wiring positions and make sure when the switch is in the start position, the power goes in the same pole and out the correct one. If the switches worked alike, you wouldn't have any problems with the replacements.
