When you check out John's website, you'll notice that he wants additional info before suggesting a final overlap.
1.26 mm 964 profile would be for a 3.6 liter but he may suggest something slightly different when using a 964-grind for a 3.0 with CIS.
Also, he lists the overlap for SC's as 1.4 - 1.7 mm but the earlier '78-'79 (930/04) have an overlap of 0.9 - 1.1 mm.
I am sure he knows this.
Read his info about refurbishing rockers; good stuff!
Send him all required info and then go with his recommendation re: overlap and let us know what he says.
One more thing:
Do not feed new chains onto old chain sprockets (The ones on the I-shaft)
