Install the new bearings by pressing only on the outer race. Chill bearing in freezer and heat housing. Pull wheel hub into bearing using spindle nut and extra washers. No pounding during installation of hub or you'll "Brinell" the races in the new bearing possibly ruining it or shortening its life.
