The race bucket...









This one clearly needs recovering, and thus the primary motivation for my question. I would like to put it into my '73 914, but when you can buy a modern seat for several hundred dollars, it begs the question of whether it's "worth" any money to restore a seat like this.

The other seats can easily be used as they stand. I don't know how I feel about the color, but since I don't currently have a car that I would put them into, it doesn't matter at this point. I am looking to get a 74-77 911 project in the future that I thought they might be appropriate for, but just don't know.

I realize, the old adage of use what you like always stands, but I do sort of have a thing for period correctness, even if I am using non-factory parts. I just have no clue how to properly date these items and hoping some who knows the tells will jump in and educate me...
