All the Porsche factory race motors use steel gears don't they?
The shaft pictured in my 935 parts book (930.105.017.00) looks like the 964 steel shaft but with aluminum chain sprockets.
By the way, the 993 steel shaft comes with the crank gear but not chain sprockets while the 930 aluminum gear shaft comes with chain sprockets but not the crank gear.
Adding things up to compare pricing of both shafts to include the parts the other is missing (crank gear and sprockets on both shafts), the 993 steel shaft assembly comes out almost $100 cheaper.
