Many of you have seen the front half of the video showing the crash carnage leading up to this. The track workers/officials were derelict, for not stopping the race due to slick rain conditions and foremost for the demonstrated lack of preparation for an emergency - somewhat predictable given the nature of motorsports.
As for the subject line; poor choice of words for a non-Darwinian award event.
