Wasn't that plaid standard on the old Turbos? And the door panels had the same tartan? The ebay photos don't do it justice, it's a vivid red. And those look like sport seats withthe big side bolsters. I remember seeing pictures of a few late 70's 930s with that interior-- particularly with dark forest green paint- there are photos in "Original Porsche 911." I agree, very cool.

Seems to me that the tartan fabric would be available but when it comes to an automotive seat, it's got to be made out of pretty tough stuff to hold up to daily use. Sounds like the guy who had it custom made was a concours type. Best of luck, if you find it in vinyl let us know.
