plaid

The red plaid that is seen in my car above is know as a "Tartan" plaid that was used for three years starting in 72. Three colors were available, red, blue, and brown. The plaid was not used previous to this time and changed to a "Madras" syle of plaid for the 75 model cars, in addition it was used throughout the car far more in these version, such as the front and rear seats, door panels and rear quarter panels, previously it was only seen on the front seats. None of the tartan plaids are available however several of the later plaids are available from Porsche. The original supplier of these plaid originated in England and or Ireland do to the technique and the materials that were employed, so any sourcing in that area is an exellent idea. A very popular material, houndstooth, has not been avalable for some time and the stuff that is available is way off and completely unacceptable, however a source has been found in Europe that has the exact weight and color match to the original, I have seen it and gladly the material meets my standards. As for the black, white, brown houndstooth I have a new sample of the material and yes it could be made.
