Volvo OBDII Error Code, where to start, P0455
A buddy of mine has a '98 Volvo S70 with 110,000 miles. Fuel economy has dropped just a bit and his engine temperature guage was coming on. The only fault on the OBDII was P 0455, EVAP SYSTEM large leak.
I replaced the thermostat and the temperature dummy light stopped coming on. He had an intermittant check engine light at one point so I am thinking there is a leak in the fuel return system? or is this as simple as the gas cap is either not tightened down or is leaking? Does this make sense to anyone? has anyone run into this before?
I'm sure it is something simple. The car sounds great. I detect the noise of older rockers but the car is quiet other than that.
