Quote For Engine Rebuild
Guys,
I am in the process of doing a rebuild on a 2.4T motor which will be rebuilt using 2.2S P&C's, 2.2/2.4S heads, and S MFI cams which I have been gathering for the past year. The S MFI is complete and need nothing.
Upon inspection of the parts I was told that the crank was good and the heads need a valve job and new valve seats. He hasn't advised yet if the P&C's need any work. I will find out in the next day.
Anyway, below is his quote. Does his pricing seem reasonable?
Also, what is the typical number of hours required to do a rebuild? He has quoted me 48 hours which seems high considering that he is only putting the motor together (the engine was give to him already apart)
Does this estimate seem fair?
Lastly, I wonder what would need to be done by a machine shop to the rods that would cost $310. Does rod bushing replacement cost this much? What other machine work could they do?
