I had a Match.com date come to an abrupt end several years ago. The woman was a lawyer (first strike) and told me at dinner she had worked at the Fairfax Co. Public Defender's Office (second strike). I was telling her some of my traffic court stories from Fairfax Co. and how I had always won. Each time pointed out what the judge, cop or prosecutor had done wrong. Finally, I said, "Are you under the impression that traffic court has anything to do with justice or the public good? It's a clearinghouse for the county's highway robbery system." With that her mood soured and as soon as I paid the check (third strike), she said, "I don't feel real good now and think we should just call it a night." Darn.
