A buddy was trying at a recent ak last week shooting at an old brake rotor. .223 put a nice ~1mm dent in the rotor. 7.62x39 destroyed the rotor. When the zombies come, I'll stick with my ak.
Considering most encounters are quite close, I'm not sure why cops dont stick with shotguns. How many 300+ yard shots does a copy take? I'm not an expert, but I know what I would want in a gun fight.
