Well, the orange RS Touring is in base primer after a bare metal strip and detail fixes of the body. We plan on restoring it to partial RS Lightweight. As the car had about 65k on it when we took it apart 10 years ago (!) we just freshened up a few things mechanically. The sport seats are half way to being finished, the wheels and tires are ready, as are the motor and trans. Expect to see this one make good noises by the end of the year. The Spyder project is interesting but on the backburner for a while: 70 911E targa converted to a speedster with oe parts, 911R doors without window channels or windows (yep going with side curtains) R style rear lid and rear lights, gas tank filler poking thru the hood, C2 oil tank in 72 911 position with external filler, H-1 smoked headlight non fluted lenses with piaa mini projectors (spiders have multiple eyes, get it?), coil over suspension with ERP bearings and bushings, Charley bars, 915 with short gears, ltd slip, RSR oil cooler pump and spray bar, dual front fender mounted oil coolers- 911R style, replica 59 speedster seats, custom guage fascia with the oe guage mechanisms behind it), various louvers here and there , emulating the 50's RSK and 550 Spyder feel. Current plans call for a built 3.2 with high butterfly RSR injection, twin plug, headers, cams, etc, etc etc. Color to be metallic anthracite with silver and metallic black stripes- real subtle stuff. About 2 years to go on this one, sigh...
