I have 1993 325 is with 136,000 mile on it. Recently I developed what sounds like a lifter ticking. The sound varies with engine rpm. I have gone through a lot of checks, nothing found. I did hear today when I was under the car that the sound appears to be coming from the oil pan area. could it be a problem with the oil pump?? My oil pressure light works fine and goes aut after about 5 seconds on cold start.
