The stalk switch is notorious for failing. It's easy to replace, but there are a bunch of wires that connect to the back of the headlight switch, and you need to replace them one-by-one.

Also, this is a good time to add a relay to the system to prevent the new switch from frying. Marcus Sucro makes a great kit that's relatively inexpensive and is sold by our host (IIRC).
