'82 SC 9.8:1 CIS; Stock ROW motor


Ok... 1st the starter didn't work so got that rebuilt. Then the fuel pump was shot, so I got a new one of those along with some hose... that works now.

1. I went to turn it over and I can hear the injectors running while it cranks.
2. It would not start so I checked spark by removing a plug and grounding it while looking for sparks. Sparks were there.
3. Smelt plug and it smelt like gas.
4. I just rebuilt the engine so I'm pretty sure I have good compression. I can check it I suppose, but the motor is hard to turn with the plugs in (9.8:1 motor).
5. I checked the timing before putting it back in about 3 times...
6. I have reviewed the plug wires and they are in the correct order
7. I have 5 gallons of gas in the tank
8. Brand new Optima battery with a charger on it
9. All the connectors are plugged in to their respective recepticals.
10. CDI buzzes and hums.

Ok so I'm out of ideas... Anyone??
