A casesaver is a steel threaded insert, OD is 14X2mm Its really not a DIY job unless you have a mill, I set the case up on my Bridgeport and use an end mill to cut the new hole then use the mill to cut the new thread, I made an install tool which is nothing but a socket screw as you can see, a little loctite and run them in. The mill is used to keep them straight and accurate. I get $175 to do a case, I don't know what others get? I also install a casesaver in the 8mm thru bolt at the lay shaft.
