One thing to remember is that the earlier 911s (pre 89) are less forgiving of mistakes when driven really hard.

The 911 really likes to talk to you in some detail when you are thrashing it. I personally like a car that will tell me something like, "You IDIOT..." while smacking me about the ears when I do something stupid like let off in a corner.
