I bought one of the little airscoops for the front bumper that Wayne sells--I have a 28-tube cooler in my 3.4-liter modified '83SC--and during a recent DE at Lime Rock that my daughter drove, on a moderately warm April day, the oil-temp gauge barely made it to the middle of the dial, which as I remember is 250 degrees. I suspect the airflow directly to the cooler had something to do with that. I would try one of those before going to a more major mod.
