Dunno if you're has any relationship to mine (the cars are quite different, I assume). Mine recently did just as you described when someone pushed the seat full forward (short driver). The belt rotated about the bottom mount. Doesn't look like it will/can but (in my case) it (clearly) did.
I still have to spend a few minutes reversing it,
