Thanks for the input. I will definitely buy that book before purchasing a car. Nice to know the engine and trans drop out easily. I had a heck of a time getting those bits out of my 924.
It's a real shame that parts are getting rare. I guess I was born a bit too late for the classic 911/912 hay day.
