If you can't find any records, then doing it now won't hurt anything.
They don't need to be done often, as the old ones did, but I've definitely seen more high mileage headgasket failures in my shop on those that never get it done after the initial service. But these truly don't much need it. I tweak them at the 48k service, and about that often afterwards. Not often at all. Pretty close to set and forget.
