If the noise is a grinding clicking type noise more than likely what your hearing is common to the 964 turbos. Some are much louder than others. The 20/100 LSD makes a grinding type noise and most likely would be what your hearing. You might also hear it at slow speeds while going forward with the wheel turned slightly.
You can either live with it or you can try adding an additive for LSD's the next time you flush the tranny fluid. I have tried the additive but the noise comes back after a while. It is letting you know it is working. More than likely the PO had added the additive and the new fluid is now allowingyou to hear the noise. I found when I used Swepco the noise was the loudest.
