I bought a 1997 ecu (dme) from the US and plugged it into my 1996 993tt but the car wont start, if i plug my 1996 ecu back in, it starts fine. The 1997 ecu(dme) was re-mapped by GIAC in the US, i bought the ecu from a friend of mine and his car was running fine with the 97 ecu(dme) do i need to do something to the ecu, my car is originally from Dubai was bought into the UK a few years a go, is there any differences between the US Porsches and the Porsches from Dubai that wont allow the 97 ecu to work on my car.
can any one help i only bought the ecu because i was told you cant modify the ecu out of a 1996 993 turbo
