I remember when I was living in Colorado 8-9 years ago, a young lady, in her early twenties from Texas died on her first day skiing.
Beginners should never go without a helmet. I am experienced snowboarder and skier, I do a lot of difficult terrain, trees, etc.., I always wear a helmet and would recommend it.
