I don't know the factory specs, but I have removed and installed my distributor a few times, and I just snug it up good, maybe 5 ft. lbs. greater then where you can move it by hand. But I do believe the timing on your motor is set by the computer, therefore you should be able to just snug it, and it won't move, because of index where your distributor goes in. I hope I made sense, and I could be way off, but I know the 3.2 carrera's are this way.
When I set my timing on my motor, I always leave it so I can move it by hand with the motor running, then after I have it set, i tighten the holding nut. It has never spun on me.
