alternator nightmare

Someone please help, First off this is a 944 cup race car completly gutted including almost all factory wiring. Ive been plagued with alternator problems all last season. I have 4or 5 alternators all have been checked at the autoparts store and all check out. I checked at the large cable that with the engine off it has 12 volts so the connection is good from the alternator to the starter to the battery. From what i can tell from the wiring diagram the small blue wire is a switched power source, I wired in a switch to supply 12 volts to the alternators small post. (Also out of frustration tried just jumping strait from the positive terminal to the small post, Didn’t work). Someone please help I’m going nuts, I work for Lockheed martin and I’ve asked electrical engineers here and they can’t tell me why it won’t work (They also think the wiring diagrams are horrible for our car). Id like to run at summit next weekend but I refuse to keep switching batteries out after every run, Thanks. also while running theres only 11-12v across the battery
