Belt maybe was not tensioned enough, pulleys a bit out of alignment... or to many rpm
We had a problem on our 935 throwing belts (shift at 9000) , sometimes it would not throw the belt, it would flip the belt over so the wide part of the vee is jammed in the pulley, then the belt would disintegrate and there would only be a few shreds of rubber and cord when back in the pit...
We just made sure the pulleys were in the same plane, and tensioned the pulley a bit more than normal... problem solved for now...
