Okay.
Basically, John had my rebuilt distributor modified to reduce the advance to either 27 or 26, I can't recall.
This is what this $80 modification has given me:
1) An engine that can now be retarded and idle normally
2) An amazingly tractable engine that spins madly to 7,600rpm with ZERO reluctance
3) An engine that struggles to reach 80C on a cool day after 30 minutes of driving
All I have to do now is upgrade to a radiator-style cooler and it'll be ready to race!
If anyone wants more information on this distributor upgrade, let this bad listener know and I'll call Mr. Gregory -- pen in hand!
Cool post, Adam.
