Was in the process of changing the air box on my 83 SC with a very filthy engine compartment and managed to get some sand and intake runner filings in my intakes. I had planned to make a special vacuum tube and suck out as much as I could but needed to move the car and didn't realize the car was in gear. End result: All the crap went down into the combustion chambers. 2 questions: 1) What will this do to my engine do I really need to worry or will it get sucked out the exhaust? and 2) any ideas on how to get it out of the piston chamber (w/o removing motor and heads) if I do need to worry?
Attached picture shows the fine salty, sandy dust that I'm talking about, note the greyish residue coating everything and around the mouse nest and excrement (one reason I won't be replacing the heat/sound pad/mouse hotel). Other picture shows pad hollowed out by mouse.
Thanks
