Hello, my name is David, and I just bought my first Porsche--1984 Carrera. Options are the Fuchs, three-spoke wheel and spoilers. It's a California car and was originally sold through Merlin Olsen Porsche-Audi. Other than Turbo valve covers, CD player and recovered seats, it's pretty much as delivered. Even the paint is original. At some point it got a Turbo tail, too.
I picked up the car a little over a week ago, and it's been great. I averaged 24 mpg on the drive home and didn't have to add any oil.
The car didn't come with a ton of records, but the pre-purchase inspection revealed good compression numbers. Plus a friend had owned it since last year. (He tends to go through cars quickly.)
Plans are to enjoy it. Plus I'm sure it will show up in our magazines. People said we needed a little more Porsche editorial, so I figured it was my civic duty to buy one.
