I had a bad 3rd gear on my tranny. The options:
Buy a new one from Porsche - $7K rebuilt (mine is an LSD)
Buy a used one - price varies. Risk: just how good is it??? Someone on this board posted a big list of places to find used parts.
Buy one from George @ 944Ecology of Ian @ 944online. price $1800 - $2000
Have yours rebuilt: Catellus Engineering $1800 - $2000
Prices may vary. Depends on what George of Ian has in stock.
In my case I chose to have mine rebuilt. LSD's are rare and I am very satisfied with the work from Catellus.
