I don't think you will have any problem arise from re-using the pistons and cylinders. I strive to return the rings to the same position (clock position) that they came from and of course on the same pistons in the same cylinders. Since you have some separated already you should measure them for wear. This rings can be removed from the pistons and inserted into the cylinders to measure end gap. The ring lands can be measured with a feeler guage. The piston clearance can be measured with a feeler guage between the piston and cylinder.

In the past I've found that my used rings had less end gap than brand new rings. With your used rings the wear limit for the ring lands is .006 inches. If you are re-ringing you must not have more than .004 inches.

Wear limit for piston to cylinder is .004 inches and is measured on the skirt.
