Help w/ Turbo Valve Covers

I have a set of turbo valve covers to install on a 914/6. I know part of the stiffening rib along the top of the lower covers near the trailing arm mount needs to be machined off. To keep from taking off more than necessary, does anyone have pictures of machined covers or some dimensions?

Also, I got the covers, mounting hardeware, and the good green gaskets from Pelican. Any hints on making the installation oil-tight? I think I read a thread in the 911 section about not over tightening the nuts (5.9 ft-lbs torque)? Any recommendations on sealers or use the gaskets as they come?

Thanks for any help,
Dan
